Rolling On To Week Two
After one full week, I’ve consistently kept my goal of 1700 net calories or less. Worked out three times last week; each time, 25 minutes on an elliptical trainer, then adding in weights and treadmill work on Saturday. From Sunday, January 1, I’ve lost 5.5 pounds.
A good start, but nothing more than that. I have a long way to go, with plateaus along the way to break through. And I will do it.
This week, I’ll be working out Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I’ll also be keeping up with the blog posts, just to make sure I’ve got a solid record of my loss.
During a meeting to discuss a wedding reception I’ll be DJing in late March, I had the first beer I’ve had since late December (including New Year’s Eve, where I was the Designated Driver). My biggest fear with alcohol is the affect it’ll have on the plan. Booze may be a certain number of calories, but your body takes three times the normal amount to burn them away. As I hit my caloric goal today, I’ll just work an extra ten minutes on the elliptical tomorrow.
5.5 down. 70 to go. Onward.
